What is the torque?
The manufacturers produce power and torque curves to describe the characteristics of their engines. .. |

The engine power test bed is an essential tool for the development of a Tuningbox unit. In our opinion, it is impossible to evaluate a power gain only by road testing!
The development of a Tuningbox model involves dozens of runs on the test bed.
Most Tuningbox units are also approved for use on the open roads of Germany, under the TUV approval scheme.
Companies wishing to obtain this approval must first of all become certified to ISO 9001 : 2000. Each unit is then individually tested in an official TUV centre.
The following are checked by an independent testing organisation:
- THE QUOTED POWER RATING (TUV approval thus guarantees that the quoted power ratings are true)
- The exhaust characteristics
That the components used are suitable for use in the automobile sector (plugs, cables, etc.)
That the units are not dangerous in use.
The following is the list of power tests performed in our workshops:
The quoted power may differ from the power values given in our list for a variety of reasons.
Our list indicates the minimum power gain achieved with a Tuningbox. You should also be aware that there is already a large tolerance on the power originally quoted by the manufacturers (e.g.: certain VW 115 hp engines already give readings of over 120 hp in their original configuration).
These are original curves printed by our power test bed.
Visit the page giving the results of the tests conducted on our own test bench.
